Ruataniwha Conservation Park

Summary

When westerly conditions make it unpleasant on the main divide, Ben Ohau Range/Ruataniwha provides a great tramping destination. On the river flats, most of the tracks are open to walkers, mountain-bikers and horse-riders. The park encompasses these main valleys: Dobson, Maitland, Hopkins, Huxley and Temple, and Freehold Creek on the western shore of Lake Ohau.
