Summary

This strategy is designed to help get order out of the complexity of working with communities by creating a framework to ensure we do the most important tasks first. It was developed from workshops and involved people from inside and outside the Department. The strategy therefore represents collective thinking on what the priorities and key actions should be.

The strategy has clear, measurable targets which are designed to be consistent with area action plans and other key documents such as the New Zealand Biodiversity Strategy.

Like all good plans it will be monitored and reviewed to ensure it remains relevant and up to date.
