8. Board responsibilities under the Walkways Act
The Board was made aware of the proposal from Eketahuna Main Street Committee to upgrade the Miller Reserve and open up the walkway from there to the historic ANZAC Bridge. The Board supports the establishment of facilities and the Reserve upgrade as the site has disabled access, heritage and native components. This proposal will link well with the Mount Bruce/Pukaha project down the road. A letter of support was written to the Committee endorsing what they are trying to achieve.
