Background information and walking guides can be ordered from the Department of Conservation Visitor Information Centre:

- Mangere Mountain volcanology walk (English and Maori).
The Auckland Regional Council offers an excellent half day guided programme on the mountain. This can be booked through the Ambury Park Education Centre. Phone Parksline +64 9 303 1530.
A pre-trip visit to the site by the trip leader is recommended to enable the best organisation for your class on the day.
