Summary

In response to findings that this population of dolphins is declining, a new set of measures have been introduced to try to reduce any potential impacts that vessels may have on the dolphins. These include new zones in Doubtful Sound that have restricted access to vessels, and encouraging boaties to leave encounters with the dolphins up to chance.
