The scientific poster is one of the products of a joint project between DOC, NIWA and VUW. The project maps the seafloor around the proposed marine reserve and will next combine this with biological data to produce a habitat map.

This is the first multibeam mapping of a New Zealand marine reserve and a novel technique in the nearshore marine environment.
