This is the Conservation Management Strategy for the Auckland Conservancy of the Department of Conservation.

It has been prepared in accordance with Part IIIA of the Conservation Act 1987).

The Conservation Management Strategy provides a strategy for the integrated management of all lands and marine areas administered by the Department of Conservation in the Auckland Conservancy.

It also indicates policies which will guide the Department when carrying out other statutory responsibilities, when advocating conservation, in developing relationships with tangata whenua, and in working with other statutory agencies, with community and user groups and members of the public.

It sets long term management directions desired for the Conservancy (over the next 10-25 years), and provides a framework for day to day conservation management by Conservancy staff, volunteers, associates and friends.
