Summary
The Kaiteriteri Recreation Reserve Board, who have been appointed by the Minister of Conservation to "control and manage" the reserve, prepared this management plan in accordance with the requirements of section 41 of the Reserves Act 1977.
This Kaiteriteri Recreation Reserve Management Plan is a community 'living document' setting out operational management actions and guidelines for future management of the Kaiteriteri Recreation Reserve for the next 10 years.
The plan is divided into two parts:
Part 1 covers the relevant legislative requirements, reserve description, history, visitor use and concessions management;
Part 2 provides an overall framework for the management of the reserve, with guiding policies that seek to assist the Board in meeting the aims, key principles and objectives in order to achieve the Vision.
The continuing management of the reserve by the Board will establish long-term outcomes and require actions based on monitoring and research findings.
