Marine Reserves Bill (PDF, 267K)

Summary

The Bill helps to implement the New Zealand Biodiversity Strategy (NZBS), which itself was developed in part to fulfil New Zealand's commitments made under the International Convention on Biological Diversity. One of the priority actions in the NZBS is to review the Marine Reserves Act 1971 to better provide for the protection of marine biodiversity. Read the Marine Reserves Bill which is the result of that review.
