Campsite fee increases for Wellington
DOC is increasing its campsite fees in Wellington Conservancy from 1 July to cover increased maintenance costs. Maintenance expenditure continues to be higher than revenue. The new fee range will bring Wellington in line with the rest of DOC's campsite charges throughout the country, although the Wellington campsite fees will still be among the lowest. Fees haven't increased since 1987.
The fee increase will affect standard (ST) campsites in the Kapiti and Wairarapa areas, all basic (B) campsites will remain free of charge. Old prices are shown in brackets:
