This was first developed as an indicator of the Department's 'appreciation outcome': "People enjoy and benefit from New Zealand's natural, historic and cultural heritage and are connected with conservation." It has been kept as an indicator of the Department's single outcome. It will be subject to further development as the move to the single outcome is further integrated into the planning system.
