Walk

From the carpark at Te Kauri Lodge, cross the road (SH 31) to Manuka Track and descend to the swingbridge. Then take Waikuku Track alongside the stream to a wooden bridge and follow the signs for Sheep Track, which takes you back to the carpark.

There are a number of other short walks in this reserve, as well as a variety of day walks.

Plan and prepare

What to expect on a short walk:

  • Easy walking for up to an hour
  • Track is well formed, with an even surface. There may be steps or slopes
  • Suitable for people of most abilities and fitness
  • Stream and rivers crossings are bridged
  • Walking shoes required
