Getting there

Access from Wainui Rd or Earles Place, near Raglan.

Description

This short walk takes you from Wainui Rd (the road from Raglan to Manu Bay) down through a small patch of coastal forest to Ngarunui Beach. There is another entrance to track from Earles Place. The elegant nikau palm is a feature of this track. A third of the way down there is an excellent lookout with views northward along the coast.

Plan and prepare

What to expect on a short walk:

  • Easy walking for up to an hour
  • Track is well formed, with an even surface. There may be steps or slopes
  • Suitable for people of most abilities and fitness
  • Stream and rivers crossings are bridged
  • Walking shoes required
