Kaimanawa Forest Park (77,348 hectares) lies south-east of Taupo and extends from Tongariro National Park in the west to the Kaweka Range in the east. Category: Tramping track

Winding its way over Mt Tongariro and around Mt Ngauruhoe is the Tongariro Northern Circuit, one of the Great Walks of New Zealand. Category: Great Walk/Easy tramping track Completion Time: 3 - 4 days Alert: Most snow is gone from the track, and remaining snow will melt as we get closer to summer.
