Fiordland National Park Visitor Centre to Te Anau Wildlife Centre
Time: 15 min
From the visitor centre follow the path and the small signs featuring a takahe along the lake terrace to the yacht club. The path behind the yacht club passes through regenerating forest to reach the park-like grounds of the wildlife centre. Native birds like tui, kakariki, kaka, kea and takahe can be seen in the aviaries.
Visitor Centre to Ivon Wilson Park
Time: 5 min
Across the road from the wildlife centre is Ivon Wilson Park - 35 hectares of natural vegetation and planted native and exotic trees. There are several attractive paths, picnic areas and barbecue sites. Picturesque Lake Henry is stocked with rainbow and brown trout as a children's fishery. Licences are available from the visitor centre. Toilets are available near the entrance.
