About the area
The Queenstown area has some of New Zealand’s most spectacular scenery and natural features. The region also has a rich history of both gold mining and settlement. Several walks follow goldfield trails that enable you to explore and enjoy the outstanding scenery at the same time.
Description
This trail meanders along the southern side of Frankton Arm and facing north is a great place to catch the sun, particularly in winter. The walk alternates from sidling below homes to traversing through regenerating native bush. This is testament to the long process of native vegetation slowly but surely overtaking weed species. Residents have had a helping hand in this restoration.
