Kelvin Heights Track

This trail meanders along the southern side of Frankton Arm and facing north is a great place to catch the sun, particularly in winter. The walk alternates from sidling below homes to traversing through regenerating native bush. This is testament to the long process of native vegetation slowly but surely overtaking weed species. Residents have had a helping hand in this restoration.

Part of the track goes around the Kelvin Heights golf course and twists through forest here. This part of the mountain biking track is classed intermediate.

This is a shared-use track. Follow the mountain bikers code: respect others, respect the rules, respect the track.

Getting there

Access to the Kelvin Peninsula Track is either at the Kawarau Bridge, at Willow Place off Peninsula Road or at the Kelvin Heights golf course.
