Start of the Glen Allen Track

Starting at Te Kere Haka Reserve, walk on a formed track through farmland to the historic Trotters Homestead ruins.

Here starts Glen Allen Scenic Reserve, nestled into a small valley. Beech forest follows the river into the hills behind. This area is steep, unmarked and stream crossings might be required. It is popular with hunters.

Getting there

Kingston is 45 minutes drive south of Queenstown. Access from the Te Kere Haka Reserve carpark at the far end of Kingston township past the railway station.

Plan and prepare

Glen Allen Track is an accessway through private farmland on a farm track which has stock on it at times and may be wet and muddy at any time of the year.
