track
Follow history along the original Bridle track linking Queenstown and Glenorchy. Original schist retaining walls can still be seen north of Bob's Cove.
Kowhai, fuchsia and rata trees border Lake Wakatipu, feeding nectar-loving birds such as bellbirds and tui. The tender shoots of the flowering kowhai and fuchsia are eaten by the kereru, our native pigeon. The track also passes through one of Wakatipu's last remaining mature stands of red beech.

Access to Bob's Cove Bridle Track is from Bob's Cove Track and Nature Walk.

Dogs are allowed in Bobs Cove Recreation Reserve, but must be on a lead.

Warning: please do not walk back along Glenorchy Rd, as it is too narrow for pedestrians.
