Description

This track is part of the original bridle trail from Queenstown to Glenorchy. The track has good views of the lake and its surrounds and passes interesting rock formations - often scaled by rock climbers.

Getting there

The track starts on the bend of Arawata Terrace and travels to the Glenorchy Road near 5 Mile Creek.

Climbing

Rock climbers will find easy to moderate routes 10m to 25m in height on the western side of the Arawata Bridle Track.

Mountain bikers, note the short technical descend that connects the Arawata Bridle Track with the Glenorchy Road.

This is a shared-use track. Follow the mountain bikers code: respect others, respect the rules, respect the track.
