Places to stay

Five huts along the track provide bunks, mattresses, a wood-burning stove or gas heater, water supply (if rainfall is sufficient), cooking benches and vault toilets.

To stay overnight at a hut or campsite on the Lake Waikaremoana Great Walk you must have a booking prior to starting the track. Bookings can be made either online or manually.

The five designated campsites have cooking shelters, grassed tent sites, water supply (if rainfall is sufficient) and vault toilets. Camping on the track is only permitted at these campsites.

Users of both huts and campsites need to carry their own portable cooking stoves. It is recommended that you boil or treat all drinking water.
