This undulating track sidles steep hill faces within a flooded canyon. You may spot prostrate kōwhai (Sophora prostrata) and two rare native brooms, Carmichaelia curta and Carmichaelia kirkii - both threatened species.

Getting there

Kurow township is located around 2 hours drive north of Dunedin.

Be prepared: The climate in this region is traditionally very hot in summer and extremely cold in winter. New Zealand weather can change very rapidly so trampers need to be prepared for a range of conditions.
