Goldie Bush Walkway
Alert/Important notice
Upgrade works have begun on the Constable Road end of Goldie Bush walkway.
The planned works include the upgrade of the Goldie Bush track from Constable Road end to the Mokoroa Stream crossing, including the installation of a new bridge across the Mokoroa Stream. Works also include the installation of a new carpark and small toilet facility at the road end.
Construction works on site will be underway from 29 October to 18 December 2009. During this time there will be no major disruption to track users, although users can expect some delays and should follow all safety signage. Works will break for the Christmas period and then be underway again from 11 January to 28 February 2010. For visitor safety, throughout the second period of works the Constable Road end of the walkway will be closed to all users. Visitors wishing to use the Goldies Bush Walkway will need to access it from the Horseman Road end instead.
Mokoroa Stream Track is a marked route only, and extreme care is needed. Numerous stream crossings. Do not attempt after heavy rain. This route is suitable for experienced trampers only. June 2009.
