Introduction

Hunting is allowed all year with the main species being wallaby and the occasional goat and pig.

A permit is required to hunt on public conservation land.

This hunting area is covered by an 'open area permit' – get it online or from a DOC office.

Dogs allowed. Keep dog under control at all times.

About this hunting block

General information

Kelceys Bush covers an area of 117 hectares 7.5 km northwest of Waimate. Not all boundaries are fully fenced so take care to ensure hunting takes place only within the public conservation land.

The block is forested in a mixture of broadleaf and podocarp trees.

Access

In Waimate turn off Queen Street onto Mill Road and follow this for 7.5 km to Kelceys Bush.

Helicopter landings will not be approved.
