Rimu tree, Pureora Forest Park
You can visit a tower which gives wonderful views of a forest canopy, a buried forest, the Treetops protest site, the largest recorded totara tree in NZ and a vintage steam hauler and tractor.

You can choose to stay in a lodge, cabins, campgrounds or huts in the Pureora Forest Park.
There is no retail shop or petrol outlet at Pureora; the nearest facilities are at Benneydale, 15 minutes west along SH 30.
Visit a hidden wonderland of tall trees, clear rivers and rare wildlife. Students can study the North Island robin, walk to the summit of Mt Pureora and look at how to 'track' rats.
In 1946 Pureora Forest was one of the last native forests to be opened up for logging. Today, there are several historic attractions within the park.
