Otago region

Otago region.

Bendigo's Historic and Scenic Reserves are outstanding examples of their kind. The historic reserve is probably the best and most accessible example of quartz reef mining in Otago. The nature reserve has the only bush walk on public land in Central Otago, the 10 kilometre Kānuka Track.

Location

Bendigo is on the western side of Central Otago's Dunstan Mountains. The main entrance is off SH 8 at Crippletown, just north of Lake Dunstan.
