Mount Pihanga

The Turangi area covers a variety of environments ranging from lake and river walks to tracks of thermal and historic interest.

It is most famous for its trout fishing, but boasts other attractions like hunting, skiing and thermal pools.

Location

Turangi lies at the southern end of Lake Taupo on State Highway 1 with the Kaimanawa Forest Park to the east, Tongariro National Park to the south and situtated on the banks of the famous trout fishing river, Tongariro.
