Hanmer Forest

Forest roads and designated mountain-bike tracks south of Jollies Pass Road offer easy, flat biking. The designated mountain-bike tracks can be accessed from Bath Street and several points along Jollies Pass Road. Allow about one hour to explore all the options.

Jacks and Jollies Passes

Jacks and Jollies Passes offer 25 km of up and downhill riding using sealed and unsealed roads through spectacular country. They are fine for beginners and should take most people somewhere between 3 - 5 hours.

Hunting

There are minor populations of red deer, chamois and pig in parts of the indigenous forest.

Permits for hunting must be obtained from the Department of Conservation.
