There are plenty of informal camping areas in Ruataniwha Conservation Park but there is no camping along any of the easements leading into the park.
Red hut
Temple Valley amenity area has shelter and toilets and good camp spots. Ensure you observe the Environmental Care Code when camping in this region.
The following huts are accessible by 4WD vehicles; Baikie Hut beside the Twizel river, Monument, Red, Elcho huts in the Hopkins valley, and Grough and Kennedy Memorial Hut in the Dobson valley.
Huts further up these valleys or in side-valleys are accessible to walkers.
