Pureora Forest Park

Pureora Forest Park straddles the Hauhungaroa and Rangitoto ranges west of Lake Taupo and east of Te Kuiti.

Beside Kakaho Stream and dense podocarp forest. Swim in the stream or walk the Rimu Track.

Notes

  • Gravel access
  • Good base for hunting and tramping
  • Campfires permitted. Be aware of fire bans and the higher fire risk during summer months. You may need a permit for your fire. Contact the local DOC office or Council for details. Follow the on-site signs.

Barryville/Maraeroa Roads, off SH 30, 20 km east of Bennydale adjacent to Pureora Field Base. From the field base follow Link Rd from park office or Kakaho Road from SH 32.
