This isolated campsite is in a clearing beside the river. Day walk the Catlins River Track (5 hr) through silver beech forest.
Getting there
Fishing at Tawanui
Turn off SH 1 at Balcutha. Drive south to Owaka. Follow Owaka Valley Road for approximately 7km, turn left onto Morris Saddle Road, then veer right at cattle-stop (sign indicating campsite).
