Puketi forest is easily accessible from the Bay of Islands. 55 km south-east of Kaitaia, off SH 1 at Forest Rd. Drive to roadend. Or you reach the campsite at the start/end point of the Waipapa River Track.

  • Access: Car or foot access
  • Single night camping only
  • Fires are not permitted
  • Toilets near Waipapa River Track
  • Beware of thieves. Remember to lock your vehicle and take your valuables with you.
  • No dogs due to risks to wildlife
