From SH 60 on the Takaka Hill Rd turn off at Canaan Rd and follow it 11 km to end. This is a gravel road, steep, windy and is icy in winter.

Notes

  • Road not suitable for motor-homes or caravans.
  • Fires are not permitted at any time.
  • Wheelchair accessible, and wheelchair accessible with assistance. Accessible facilities may include toilets, water supply, showers, picnic tables, kitchens and pathways.
  • No dogs.

Located near the entrances to a number of tracks in Abel Tasman National Park. Mountain biking, walking and tramping activities are all nearby.

There are also opportunities for experienced cavers at Harwoods Hole, who have familiarised themselves with the Harwoods Hole and Starlight Cave guidelines (PDF, 70K).
