The drive to the campsite beside a historic goldfield is scenic. Nearby activities include caving, gold fossicking, picnicking, hunting and walking. Take repellant for ferocious sand flies.
Notes
- Gravel access. The Dart River ford crossing can be impassable after heavy rain.
- Walking access via swing bridge.
- Road not suitable for motor-homes or caravans.
- Fires are not permitted at any time.

Turn off SH 61 at Tapawera. Follow Rd to Bushend Rd then Wangapeka River Rd to end.
