Easily accessible campsite and picnic area next to the Whirinaki River. The forest includes rimu and totara trees. Fish for trout, swim in the river or hunt.

Location

90 km south east of Rotorua. Minginui Rd, off Te Whaiti Rd (formerly SH 38).

Getting there

Follow Te Whaiti Rd (formerly SH 38) from Murupara for 19 km to Minginui Rd. Turn off to camp is 5 km along Minginui Rd on right.

  • Recently completed shelter provides for all weather cooking.
  • Dogs permitted. Must be on leash at all times.
