Borland Road and nearby tramping opportunities provides access to Lake Monowai, Lake Manapōuri and their tributary rivers which provide good trout fishing.

The Green Lake/Lake Monowai track is a five-day circuit. The route to the North Borland Hut provides a clear view of Mt Titiroa.
