The Matemateaonga Track along with the Mangapurua Track is one of the two major tramping opportunities available in Whanganui National Park. Using an old Maori trail and settlers' dray road, you are able to penetrate deep into the wilderness of the park.
Whanganui National Park is located in the south-west of New Zealand's North Island.
Each hut is unique but the facilities and services provided in or near huts are divided into five categories:
Fees are charged according to the hut category and the level of facilities and services provided at the hut. Find out more about these hut categories.
