Introduction

Take part in one of many special recreational events held annually in Fiordland National Park. Choose from mountain adventure runs, endurance walking, road cycling, fishing competitions, swim racing, volunteering and more.

Kepler Challenge & Luxmore Grunt

Adventure running races held in November each year on the Kepler Track (60 km), organised by the local Te Anau community. See Kepler Challenge website.

Routeburn Classic

An adventure running race held in late April each year on the Routeburn Track (32 km). 

Stump the Hump

A 24 hr endurance walking event held each year in late January on the Hump Ridge Track (55 km), starting at midnight. See Stump the Hump website.

Te Anau Fishing Competition

A local event each year around Labour Weekend (late October) organised by the Te Anau Club. See Te Anau events website.

Across Lake Te Anau Swim
