About this track

Description

Look out for the access road into Coal River on Lilybank Road, 5 km past the Roundhill Ski Area turn-off. Drive a short distance to the formed car park.

It is a steep climb of 500 m from the Coal River car park to Camp Stream Hut.

Cross Coal River and follow the marked uphill route past deer paddocks. This is a public access easement through private farmland so keep to the track. There is a sign at the start of Te Kahui Kaupeka Conservation Park. Continue uphill to the top of the old glacial terrace and you will pick up a well-formed track to Camp Stream Hut.
