There are a wide range of hunting options available within the mid and south Canterbury area, targeting deer, wallabies, goats, pigs and thar.

The Area is managed from an office located in Geraldine. Key public conservation lands that fall within this administration include the conservation areas of the upper Rakaia / Rangitata catchments, reserves on the Hunter Hills and adjacent foothill catchments.

Location

The mid and south Canterbury area covers the mid-Canterbury region of the South Island from the coast to the foothills between the Rakaia and Waitaki rivers; Ashburton is the main city in the region.
