Mackenzie Country & Waitaki area
This block is part of the Ahuriri Conservation Park.
The Ben Ohau Conservation Area consists of open tussock country, within the Ruataniwha Conservation Park.
The majority of this hunting area consists of beech forest located within the Ruataniwha Conservation Park.
The Gamack Range extends south from the Liebig Range bordering Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park.
This area lies north of Lake Tekapo and between the Godley River and Two Thumb Stream. Tahr and chamois are found here.
This range sits between the Godley and Cass rivers northwest of Lake Tekapo and incorporates the western side of the Hall Range and all of Haszard Ridge. Tahr and chamois are found here.
The Hopkins Valley is a mixture of beech forest, open tussock tops and scree and rock slopes.
This is a beech forest valley north of Lake Ohau, consisting of the north and south branch and lower confluence of the Huxley River.
This area is open year round and is subject to tahr control and recovery operations.
This is an open hunting area except for the Kirkliston and Potato Stream catchments where forestry contractors are working at various times of the year.
This is a beech forest valley with open, rocky scree tops on the west of Lake Ohau, and is located within the Ruataniwha Conservation Park.
This region is part of the Oteake Conservation Area and is generally gentle, rolling tussock country. Red deer and pigs are found here.
This area consists of beech forest remnants and open tussock country, with red and fallow deer, tahr and chamois all present.
This is block covers Ruataniwha (Ben Ohau) Peak between Greta Stream and Glen Lyon road, within the Ruataniwha Conservation Park.
This hunting area covers open, rocky ground southwest of Kurow. Red deer, chamois and pigs are present.
This is a beech forest valley north of Lake Ohau, which includes the north and south branches of the Temple Stream and its lower confluence.
This region covers the range east of Lake Tekapo and south of Two Thumb Stream. The area carries tahr and chamois.
