There are plenty of great places to go mountain biking in conservation areas with over 1000 km of tracks to choose from. Fantastic scenery and plenty of opportunities for overnight trips staying in DOC huts make this a great way to enjoy the outdoors and get some exercise while you're at it. From easy family rides to adrenalin pumping technical tracks, there is something for everyone.

For some of the best riding check out the recently approved Heaphy Track biking route, as well as the Queen Charlotte Track and the Otago Central Rail Trail.
