Little Barrier Island (Hauturu-o-Toi) volunteer opportunities

Little Barrier Island (Hauturu-o-Toi) is one of New Zealand's oldest off-shore island sanctuaries, and is home to many of our endangered wildlife species and over 400 plant species.

Volunteer programmes on Little Barrier Island require a high fitness level of participants due to the rugged nature of the terrain, and skills relevant to the specific monitoring or maintenance programmes.

The volunteer programmes are very popular, with many more volunteers applying than the number able to be accommodated, but expressions of interest are welcome at any time.
