Waihi District Walkways Inc
Waihi Walkways' vision is to create a series of linked walkways on public land around the Waihi District, for good health and for appreciation and enjoyment of our wonderful natural environment.
The Mill Stream Walkway, within Waihi township, was the first walkway to be constructed, and a staged development of further walkways down the banks of the Ohinemuri River is underway.

Regular volunteer days involve planting, chipping, mulching, weed control and track maintenance. There are also opportunities for predator control.
Research and interpretation of the historic and natural values of the walking tracks is ongoing.
