Tikitapu Pest Control Programme (Rotorua Forest & Bird)

The Tikitapu Pest Control Programme works to reduce rat and possum populations in order to protect the rare native mistletoe in the Tikitapu Reserve, encouraging bush regeneration and increased bird numbers.

You can help

Volunteers with reasonable fitness are required. Work involves trimming of lines each season and then putting baits in the bait stations, topping baits up and finally removing residue. Working bees are held from 9am - 12.30pm during the late winter and spring, usually every 2 to 4 weeks.
