West Coast Tai Poutini Conservation Board district
The area of responsibility for the West Coast Tai Poutini Conservation Board is the West Coast from north of Karamea to Big Bay (refer to the map).
This area corresponds to that of the West Coast Conservancy, South Island, except for:
- Kahurangi National Park (which is the responsibility of the Nelson/Marlborough Conservation Board),
- Arthur's Pass National Park (Canterbury Aoraki Conservation Board), and
- Mt Aspiring National Park (Otago Conservation Board).
The area also extends out to the twelve nautical mile limit with respect to coastal and marine issues, and out to the 200 nautical mile limit with respect to marine mammal issues.
