Peter (Pete) Masters, Taupo
Pete Masters has five years previous experience on the Board, and is the current Chair. He is a keen outdoorsman with a passion for outdoor recreation and the conservation estate.
Dr Tumu te Heuheu, Taupo
Tumu is Paramount Chief of Ngati Tuwharetoa and is is a direct descendant of Horonuku te Heuheu who in 1887, as Paramount Chief of Ngati Tuwharetoa, gifted the mountains of Tongariro to the people of New Zealand.
He is Chairperson for the following local trusts: Tuwharetoa Maori Trust Board; Lake Taupo Forest Trust; and Lake Rotoaira Forest Trust. He sits on many National Boards as either chair or a member. In the 2004/2005 honours list he was made a Distinguished Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit. As New Zealand's delegate to the UNESCO World Heritage Committee he was elected Chairperson in 2006.
Barbara Morris, Taupo
Barbara is now retired after a career in nursing management and health-related consultancy work. She is a member of the Federated Mountain Clubs executive, has over 40 years tramping experience, and more recently, has developed an interest in mountain biking. Barbara has built up an extensive knowledge of the conservation estate and recreation issues through these activities, and also from her volunteer involvement with Land Search and Rescue.
Don Cameron, Raetihi
Don Cameron is a Ruapehu District Council councillor and Rotary club member, with extensive knowledge of the Tongariro National Park.
Colin Paton, Taupo
Colin is a retired farmer with a keen interest in wildlift habitat management and a passion for natural history and environmental issues. In keeping with his recreational interests in fishing, deer hunting, duck and wild game shooting, Colin is currently a councillor for Eastern Region Fish & Game, and chairman of the Wildfowlers Association of NZ.
Cam Speedy, Turangi
Cam is employed by Genesis Energy as an Ecologist and has also spent the last ten years self-employed as a Wildlife Biologist. Cam has extensive pest management experience and a sound understanding of ecological and practical conservation management.
Neville Young, Wellington
Neville works from Turangi and Wellington as a self-employed consultant and company director. He has over 40 years experience as a lawyer and has served on many boards including roles as Chair of the Ruling Panel of the Electricity Industry and Chair of the Earthquake Commission.
