50th Anniversary Westland Tai Poutini National Park
On 29 March 1960, the Westland Tai Poutini National Park was formed. Celebrations are to be held in the Franz Josef and Fox Glacier region from 27 - 28 March 2010 to celebrate 50 years of the development of the Park and the people who have played a significant role in its protection, development and the enjoyment.
The organisers are inviting all those who have been associated with the Park to register their interest for these celebrations.

You can help
You might have relevant photos which you could share. We would be keen to see them and have them displayed during the anniversary weekend. You can either scan the photos and email them to Katrina Henderson at wnp50anniversary@doc.govt.nz .
Alternatively you could also send the hardcopies (clearly labelled with return address) to:
Katrina Henderson,
Department of Conservation
PO Box 14
Franz Josef Glacier 7856
Clearly label your photographs with information which can be used as a caption for display, and provide photographer/owner credits. If the committee wishes to use any of your photographs or written material in commemorative material you will be contacted for permission.
Other material
You may have old newspaper clippings, booklets, stories or written material on the Park that may be suitable for display during the weekend celebrations or to use in commemorative material. All hard copies will be returned once scanned. Please send any material to Katrina Henderson at the address above.
If the committee wishes to use any of your written material in commemorative material you will be contacted for permission.
