National Wetlands Symposium 2010

The 4th National Wetland Restoration Symposium, will be held in Rotorua on 3 - 5 March 2010 at the Novotel Lakeside Hotel, Rotorua.

The theme is: "Wetland Management and Restoration (Freshwater and Estuarine)."

This very practical-based forum is being organised by the Bay of Plenty Wetland Forum in association with the National Wetland Trust.  The Bay of Plenty Wetland Forum comprises Environment Bay of Plenty, Fish & Game New Zealand (Eastern Region), and the Department of Conservation East Coast Bay of Plenty Conservancy.

The Symposium is designed as a training and networking opportunity for landowners, iwi, people committed to wetland biodiversity and restoration, policy makers and wetland scientists from all over New Zealand.

Programme outline

The programme will include presentations, technical sessions, soapbox forum, practical sessions and fieldtrips with practical training on management techniques including pest control and hydrology.

Speakers have been invited to ensure a balanced and relevant suite of presentations. Posters on wetland research and restoration projects are welcome. If you are interested in displaying a poster please indicate that on the registration form. Trade displays are subject to an exhibitor contribution.
