Conservation Week

Conservation Week 2010
12 - 19 September

Conservation Week is about celebrating and experiencing New Zealand’s unique wildlife, natural areas and historic places.

Thousands of New Zealanders take part in Conservation Week events around the country. DOC works with conservation organisations, councils and businesses to give people opportunities to get involved.

You can contribute to conservation work all year round. For inspiration check out our getting involved in conservation group on Flickr to see people taking part in conservation. Try our at home activity ideas to get involved in conservation in your backyard. And learn about ongoing volunteer opportunities and conservation projects to get involved in your community.

TVNZ 6 is DOC’s partner for Conservation Week because their channel is a place where Kiwi families learn and explore the world around them together.
