Conservation Week

Get Involved: Kia Mahia te Mahi

Conservation Week is coming and the theme for 2009 is 'Get Involved'!

Throughout the week DOC and TVNZ 6 are encouraging New Zealanders to take part. From joining an organised group, to participating in a Conservation Week activity, doing something in your backyard or even engaging online, there’s a way for everyone to ‘Get Involved’.

Conservation Week gives DOC and TVNZ 6 the chance to acknowledge the thousands of volunteers and community groups who donate their time to help conservation work in New Zealand. Community groups get right behind Conservation Week by organising events in their region. It’s a great chance to showcase their achievements and inspire other people to contribute.

2009 is the second year DOC and TVNZ 6 are working together for Conservation Week. TVNZ 6 is looking forward to helping lots of New Zealand families enjoy conservation together.
